This view shows the overall structure of the treb. The sides are made of 2" to 3" thick pieces of Honey Locust or Osage Orange. These are extremely hard woods, and I probably could have gotten away with much smaller pieces. If pine or another softwood is used more bracing should be added, and all structural pieces should be at least 2" thick. The lateral motion of the treb was much stronger than I had anticipated, but everything held up nicely. The diagonal bracing and uprights were attatched using 3/4" steel bolts and the crosspieces were attatched with 2 1/2" lag screws on each end.
